Getting Back on Track- Relearning how to knit

As silly as it might sound I've forgotten how to knit....

I had a co-worker about 6 years ago teach me how to knit a scarf, and I LOVED it. Knitting is so relaxing that I had to have knitted like 6 scarves in a matter of a month. (I might be exaggerating)

So here's a new goal....... yes here I go again with my goals... have I completed any of my goals this year...
Well, I guess I have completed 1 so far... Baby Maybelline. That was a fun one to complete and it's not even fully complete yet... I still have another 3 months to go until her due date.

ANYWAYS, I would like to relearn how to knit and also how to make baby blankets and baby hats. Being that my little night owl is going to be born at the end of fall, she's going to need super cute hats and blankets. I have some pretty amazing friends that know how to do all the above, so I've asked for their help. But here's some ideas of what I would like to do.

I mean really, a Berry Hat is a must in a little girls closet!

And something very cute and simple

I know it will take me a while to get to this point, but a girl can dream right?

So cute and colorful!

Maybelline's Nursery

We are so excited about our little one coming into this world we can barely stand it.

We have roughly 18 weeks and 2 days to get our sweet little baby's nursery done and ready for her homecoming.

What's her theme? Beatrix Potter
What color are we painting the room? Light Pink, so light that you can barely tell it's pink.
This might help.

We got some more decor for Maybelline's room the other day.

Beatrix Potter picture frame
found it on ebay for $6.00

Gender Reveal Games & Food

We all know the only reason people come to a gender reveal party is to find out what the happy couple is having.
But why stop there? Make your gender reveal party something special for everyone to remember.

Food:

Our family is a VERY helpful kind of family. I had made out a list of what was going to be served at the party, and we are so lucky that our Mothers, Grandma, and Sisters took care of all the food items on that list. (Which also made a VERY easy clean up)

This was an idea that I got from another blogger. Buy Hershey bars and then color in He in blue She in pink. It's just something cute for everyone to oooo and awww over.

The food table complete with everything Sarah (myself) has been craving. Naturally this isn't everything I've been craving just the easy things to prepare.

Cravings: S'mores poptarts, chocolate chip cookies, potato salad, and pasta salad. The fruit didn't make the table in time for the picture, but it was there. :)

Games:
Lets make your family and friends wait longer by making them having vote on what the happy couple is having.
Voting-

Each person had to write their name on a mini onesie as to what they thought we were having. This was made mainly for those who thought to wear pink and blue to the party, so at the end they still had to vote boy or girl!

This chart was made with the same scrapbooking paper as the invites and decorations. Poster board was also purchased at the Dollar Tree for $.50

Gender Reveal Decorations

I wanted the decorations to be cute, but easy on the wallet.
I used the scrap-booking paper that I had used for the invites to make onesies. I then hung the onesies on a ribbon above our doorway.
The color theme was pink and blue, just so we could have our guest still wondering what we were having.

 Hanging decorations

The snack table.
This part was very easy and I didn't have to spend much. The paper goods I got at our local Dollar Tree Store, along with the candy dishes, plastic table cloth, and decor stones. The flowers and vase I already had at the house.

I also used this lovely picture frame that was given to us as a housewarming gift to display our baby's pictures at 18wks and 20wks.

I hope this helps with your upcoming gender reveal party.
